Mr Schmiedel is responsible for all ferrous export sales for deep sea and container exports from all Sims Metal Management entities. Additionally, Bill Schmiedel is responsible for all third party transactions for ferrous scrap, HBI, Pig Iron and semi-finished steel products traded worldwide. Bill Schmiedel was previously president of Sims Hugo Neu Global Trade and prior to this position served with similar responsibilities for Hugo Neu Corporation as Senior Vice President of Marketing. He also served as the executive Vice President of Marketing for Naparano Iron and Metal, as well as Senior Vice President of Witte-Chase Corporation. In his 37-year career in the recycling industry he has also served in various trade organizations with the most recent position being Vice President of the BIR Ferrous Board.
